Horror Icon Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) attending UNIV-CON
One of the most iconic horror actors in film history will be opening up the National Paranormal Conference this September. Robert Englund, famous for his portrayal as Freddy Krueger in the internationally popular “Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise has been tapped to take the stage opening night.
“Robert Englund has been on our wish list for years,” said UNIV-CON founder Ryan Buell. “ We’re honored that he will be a part of this year’s conference.”
Details of his appearances are being kept under wraps, but in typical UNIV-CON fashion, conference organizers promise that they’ll be delivering something unique and different not seen at other conferences or conventions. What they have revealed, however, is that after his scheduled appearance he will do a Q&A session and sign autographs.
Last year, actor Doug Bradley, most famous for his portrayal as Pinhead in Clive Barker’s “Hellraiser” movies, enthralled attendees with a series of one-act plays on death.
UNIV-CON 7 is September 11 - 14th, 2008.

Robert Englund! I'm not a fan, nor a fan of your character Freddie Krueger. But! As an Actor and as a person who does Horror Films. And! Who's inter-ested in the Paranormal. So! I'm pretty sure you did some research into your character Freddie Krueger. And! How a demon like Freddie Krueger came to be. By doing research into the Paranormal. I hope I made sence Mr.Englund. I'm just trying to see where does the para-normal. And! Horror Films like Night- mare On Elm St. come into play with 1 and another. Because! I think both the Paranormal and Horror Films have some- thing to do with 1 and another. And! It's not only with Horror Films. The Paranormal has something to do with Hor-ror Shows too. Like the Classic Horror Show Dark Shadows. Thank You.

I love Robert Englund. I've been a fan for a long time that even predates the "Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise. When Mr. Englund played a disadvantaged Visitor on the television series "V." He was great then, and caught my eye on his talent as an actor. I also loved the Nightmare films he did. I would love to have an autograph from Mr. Englund, or better yet, to meet him in person!
